Amy Allen Signing at Red Five Toys & Collectibles

mm

Good times were had at RedFive Toys and Collectibles meting Amy Allen and hanging out with fellow Star Wars Collectors.

First and foremost, it was wonderful meeting long time collectors of the Facebook Group (SW The Vintage Collection). Some collectors came from a few different states in New England including Connecticut and New Hampshire. I heard there was even a sighting of Tuna from Banthaskull there.

Owners of RedFive, Brian and Monica put on such a great event for their customers and it could be seen during all four hours of the event. Many collectors hung out the whole time and conversed over various topics like: Who’s your favorite Jedi? What did you think of the Ahsoka Series? What was your favorite Hasbro toy line? Favorite vehicle? My family also came to the event and we had a nice conversation with Amy about her role as Aayla and our recent vacation out to California (which included me escaping to SDCC!).

While in line chatting with fellow collector Jon Bowen, who’s family owns a 100 year old Ford Dealership (Bowen’s Garage), Amy partially overheard me say “I love my Ford Bronco” and asked what I loved as she did not hear the whole statement. Upon telling her I’m in love with my Ford Bronco and that Jon sold me one, we ended up having a whole conversation about the vehicle with her. To me this speaks volumes about her, she was genuinely interested in all conversations and even had a story to share about the vehicle.

Elias Fulton of Customs For the Kid blog made an uncanny custom of Aayla Secura to gift to Amy. Check out their link and the slideshow above for the details; absolutely amazing detail and likeness and very kind of Elias to gift it. Being a customizer, I know many of these projects take tens of hours to make and are a labor of love.

Congratulations to Chad for winning my in store raffle of the SDCC Exlcusive Krrsantan. He told me after he won that he didn’t have Krrsantan which explains the excitement when I drew his name. Congrats again Chad! The VC217 I had Amy sign will be raffled in the Star Wars The Vintage Collection Facebook Group.

Overall, it was a great time enjoying Star Wars with fellow collectors and I’m very grateful Brian invited me to to participate. I only wish I took more pics with fellow collectors and store owners Brian and Monica. Oh and Kylo Ren and his grandpa Darth Vader too. Next event for sure.
