John Miko’s Last Figure Standing 10 Most Wanted

mm

This is always a tough mental exercise and I’m never fully satisfied with my list. I can easily list 50 figures I desperately want in the line, so whittling it down to 10 becomes an exercise in overchoice. It’s like being asked what my last meal would be; hopefully it would be a 10-course meal. I waffled on definitive updates and character debuts, and at one point, I thought I should focus solely on character debuts. If that were the case, I’d add Boodhi Rook, Saw Gerrera, Two Tubes, Luthen Rael, and Pao to that list. However, I’d also want Melshi, Bistan, and Morooff etc. Sheesh, we are so starved for figures in TVC… PAIN. As a modern collector, I’m always looking to upgrade my figures to their definitive forms, and it’s healthy for the line to update main characters to draw new collectors in. Below is my reasoning for each figures in my top 10. Please share your 10 most wanted!

Definitive Updates

Death Star II Luke Skywalker

We need a definitive Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker. VC298 (Jedi Academy) and VC264 (Imperial Light Cruiser) had upgrades that would lend well to making a Death Star II Luke (with interchangeable open/closed flap) to accompany VC280 Darth Vader (Death Star II). Luke is everything to me, and we need definitive versions of ROTJ Luke and TESB Luke (Bespin fatigues), like VC344 ANH Luke.

C-3PO – A New Hope

We need him for so many world-building scenes across all media. Hasbro would be wise to make duplicate steel tools for him since we need so many deco versions. Hasbro’s Chris Reiff has admitted our current version isn’t even properly scaled. I want non-removable panels, great range of motion/poseability, and carbonized gold/silver deco.

Boba Fett – The Empire Strikes Back

In my opinion, VC186 Boba Fett is the best overall figure in the line. From sculpt to deco, we’ll never see a mainline figure with so much. Yeah, sure, fine—barbell hips would make him even “better.” We need his TESB counterpart next. Tuna from Banthaskull has a great idea to also offer the Pre-Pro 2 version as well.

Supreme Chancellor Palpatine – Jedi Arrest

The last version of this is 20 years old. We need one with extreme poseability to do all the acrobatic stunts he performs during the Jedi arrest scene and then duel with Master Windu. I’d love alternate head sculpts as well. I’m not sure how we can get extreme poseability without some sort of soft goods.

Obi-Wan Kenobi – Revenge of the Sith

I’ve been beating the drums for a long time to make the mains, which includes PT mains. I’m enjoying the new Darth Vader (Ahsoka) from The Journey of Anakin Skywalker 3-Pack, and it makes me want ROTS Obi-Wan even more. So did that TBS SDCC Anakin/Obi-Wan 2-Pack with the panning droid and lava base—in fact, I might have cried a little with that one. I hope to see that all in 3.75” form at some point with a decent lava bed that lights up. So bring us a definitive Obi-Wan already, so we can finally retire another 20-year-old figure.

Character Debuts

Baze Malbus

Chirrut is getting really lonely and sad without his best bro Baze. Baze is, without question, the next figure that should be made from Rogue One—but they should also do a mini beat and release Bodhi Rook as well. At the very least…

Shasa Tiel

Jabba goons. Sweet, sweet Jabba goons. The best “glups” in all of Star Wars. It would be great to get a new Ishi Tib in the line—the one seen behind Luke as he attempts to take down Jabba. She appears often in the first 30-ish minutes of the movie and really stands out with her huge, bright green head. Shasa ranked #34 overall on LFS 2024 and was just a few votes shy of taking down Jedi Arrest Palpatine in Round 1 of SWTVC March Madness. That speaks volumes about how wanted she is.

Fozec

Fozec is probably the Jabba goon seen most, since he escorts our heroes through the opening scene of ROTJ. I have fantastic customs of both Fozec and Shasa, and with the way Hasbro has been knocking new sculpts out of the park, I think they’d deliver on these two as well. Fozec could leverage Jorruus tooling even though it’s not perfectly accurate, and Shasa could use the Snowtrooper Commander’s lower body all the way down to the boots. Fozec could also be retooled to make other skiff guards wearing similar, if not the same, attire. He ranked #30 overall on LFS 2024.

Yotts Orren

Now that we have all characters from the prisoner skiff completed with Velken Tezeri, it’s time to move over to the second skiff guard. He’s the final Nikto needed to complete Jabba’s entourage—let’s go, Hasbro! Here’s my article on a Jabba Denizen’s 3 Pack that should be made. Yotts was #54 on LFS 2024, just missing the top 50 most wanted overall.

Brethupp

We also need a character-debut Ewok in the line. Brethupp has a unique pattern and has been desired and celebrated by collectors for a long time. He’s also a talented drummer and Yub Nub rock star. Here’s an article I guest-wrote for Bantha Skull on how we could get him and his drums. Please give us an all-new head sculpt, Hasbro—I don’t want puckered lips on my murder bear.
