In case you missed it, Agustin and I had fun interview with members of Hasbro’s Star Wars Brand Team at SDCC. Check out Brandon (Marketing), Chris (Design), and Eric (Design) go through the reveals with us while we leveraged the Battle On Geonosis free poster handed out by the team at the con. They have many of the reveals in hand that our oscar worthy director, Ariel C. panes through with cinematic mastery. He also does great pans of the display dioramas.
Overall, it was a decent reveal series but by no means was it your typical SDCC power packed reveals with HasLabs or any type of large vehicle etc. We got a few things from the Mandalorian & Grogu movie which included the nod to the Kenner mini rigs with the INT-4 and warlord, an Amani Warrior (where hints were of a future O96er), Rotta the Hutt with his 8 pack and all, and we got our mains from AOTC Arena battle – Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padme Amidala (battle damaged).
We also got first scoop at the HasLab Halo initiative by the team for 2027. The first offering will be a carded multipack to support the Ghost with possibility of other similar offerings for the other HasLabs as well. We also heard from the team that there is no HasLab offering being announced this year. A rest for our wallets they noted but at the same time the thought that goes through my mind is what about a smaller HasLab offering. Are figure dream packs just not realistic at this point? Are they too risky from a price point needed by Hasbro and unwilling by collectors?
As Agustin always puts it, as TVC Fans We Want More, We Always Want More… We are realists and had a great time at SDCC did we wish for more reveals? Yes, but we were not going to let that stop our good time. We are were just grateful to be there and grateful this TVC/3.75″ was present.
